Irazu Volcano

Departing from: San José and Surroundings

The trip begins ascending the breathtaking summit of the Irazu Volcano for a view of the massive crater. On a clear day you can actually see the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans!

After an exciting tour at the volcano, we will descend to the historical city of Cartago. Here we will visit the mysterious ruins of the old Parish and view the beautiful Basilica of our “Virgen de los Angeles” with rich displays of carvings, statues and art.

Rincon de la Vieja national park

This is one of the most complete parks on Costa Rica with its active Volcano and a variety of ecosystems that include cloud, rain and dry forest. The biodiversity of this park creates one of the most attractive parks in the Country. A walk inside the park will teach you about the forest, including volcanic activity in form of fumaroles.

The fauna is not less important, the rich animal life that lives in the park will surprise you.

Poas Volcano and Sarcha

This tour combination will let you experience in one day the Poas Volcano with his majestic and imposing crater at 2.708m above see level, considered the largest one of the world and enjoy a magnificent view of the Central Valley.

Accompanied by your local guide you will walk up to the top and observe the enormous crater with its deep green lake. Look deep into the crater and see the still active steam and sulfur outlets.

We will continue to visit Grecia and Sarcha­, towns where the agriculture is the most important activity. You will see a lot of coffee and sugar cane plantations at both side of the road. There you will have spare time to visit the Souvenirs Shops and buy yourself an unique local souvenirs.

Arenal Volcano

Departing from: Jacó Beach Area

On this trip we will go to the west side of the most active Volcano in Costa Rica, starting with an easy walk through the rain forest to the marvelous observation point; pretty close but really safe. From there we will have the view on the the majestic erupting activity of the Arenal Volcano; which is our objective.

Afterwards, we will hike on lava flows into the Natopnal Park. We will choose lava flow called The Toucans or the other trail called The Silence. In both trails it is possible to see a variety of plants, birds and volcanic rocks.

  • jacket or poncho if raining
